How I Created the HerDIYHome Logo in Adobe Illustrator
Designing the HerDIYHome logo was an exciting creative process focused on women empowerment, home renovation, and hands-on DIY skills. The goal was to create a logo that feels strong, confident, and welcoming—something that truly represents women learning to use tools and transform their own homes.
I started the logo design in Adobe Illustrator, beginning with the most important visual element: the home shape. A home instantly connects the brand to renovation, painting, and DIY projects. I created a clean and simple house outline using basic shapes and the Pen Tool, keeping the structure minimal so the logo would remain clear at any size.
Next, I incorporated the female shape into the design. This was a key part of the concept, as HerDIYHome is all about empowering women. The female form was carefully blended into the home shape to show strength, independence, and confidence—symbolizing women taking control of their living spaces and learning practical skills.
Typography played an important role in bringing the logo together. I added the brand name “HerDIYHome” using clean, readable lettering. The word “Her” emphasizes femininity and empowerment, while “DIY Home” highlights the hands-on, instructional nature of the brand. I adjusted spacing and alignment to ensure balance between the icon and the text.
Throughout the process, I focused on keeping the logo simple and versatile. This ensures it works well on websites, marketing materials, photo watermarks, and future merchandise. The final result is a meaningful logo that visually tells the story of HerDIYHome—women building confidence, skills, and beautiful homes through DIY.
